The application of TPU flame retardant and fireproof film in the field of fire protection clothing has been very mature. Take the fire-fighting protective clothing equipped by a city's fire rescue detachment as an example. Its structure usually consists of four layers. The outermost layer is made of high-temperature resistant fabrics such as aramid, and the middle waterproof and breathable layer is made of TPU flame-retardant film. By adding a phosphorus-nitrogen flame retardant to the polyurethane matrix, this kind of membrane material can quickly self-extinguish after leaving the fire. The limiting oxygen index can reach more than 30%, while maintaining excellent waterproof and moisture-permeable properties. The hydrostatic pressure resistance can reach more than 10,000 mm, and the moisture permeability is maintained at more than 5 kilograms per 24 hours. It can not only block the intrusion of high-temperature water vapor and chemical liquids, but also discharge human sweat in a timely manner, effectively reducing the heat stress reaction of firefighters in fire scenes.

In actual fire-fighting and rescue operations, firefighters need to be in high-temperature and dense smoke environments for a long time. The TPU flame-retardant film and the aramid felt insulation layer are used together to effectively block the conduction of radiant heat to the human body. Together with the outer fabric, the overall protective performance meets the relevant national standards. In addition, in scenarios such as forest firefighting suits, earthquake rescue suits, and chemical plant emergency work suits, the thin and light TPU flame-retardant composite film not only ensures protective performance, but also significantly reduces the overall weight of the garment, improving the wearer's mobility. In recent years, with the continuous advancement of material technology, high-temperature-resistant TPU membranes can withstand short-term high temperatures of more than 200 degrees Celsius, further improving the safety and comfort of firefighting suits in extreme fire environments, and providing a reliable guarantee for the life safety of firefighters.
