Application of TPU film technology in improving product transparency

The improvement of transparency of TPU films mainly relies on material formula optimization and molding process control. First of all, high-purity polyester or polyether polyurethane particles are used in the selection of raw materials, and the residual amount of isocyanate is strictly controlled to reduce light scattering caused by impurities in the raw materials. In the extrusion process, the extrusion temperature is precisely controlled between 170 and 210 degrees Celsius to avoid overheating and degradation of the material to produce microcrystals while maintaining melt uniformity.

The tape casting process uses mirror polished rollers and rapid cooling shaping technology to quickly cool the melt and fix the molecular chain arrangement, inhibit the growth of spherulites, and obtain a high transmittance surface. In addition, adding nucleating agents and optical stabilizers can further refine the crystal size and reduce haze. Surface treatment processes such as plasma polishing or anti-reflective coating can effectively reduce surface roughness and improve light transmittance.

These process improvements enable TPU films to achieve a light transmittance of more than 90% and a haze of less than 1%. They are widely used in fields with strict transparency requirements such as optical films, smart wearable device windows, and medical packaging, taking into account both flexibility and optical performance.
